Age Milestone 30 - 49 Years Renew licence once every 3 years. TDVL/PDVL refresher course once every 6 years. 50 - 64 Years Medical examination every 2 years. Renew licence once every 3 years. TDVL/PDVL refresher course once every 6 years. 65 - 69,71, 72 Years old Medical examination every year. Renew the licence annually. TDVL/PDVL refresher course once every 6 years. 70,73, 74 Years old Assessment on fitness to drive every year. Renew the licence annually. TDVL/PDVL refresher course once every 6 years. LTA vocational licence holders aged 67 years old and above will only be able to renew their licences for a pro-rated period, due to the need to complete an assessment on fitness to drive at age 70, 73 and 74 respectively. Licence Renewal Periods for Taxi Drivers Aged 65 Years and Above Age Renewal Period Up to 66 years old Licence will be renewed for a period of 3 years. 67 – 70 years old Licence will be renewed up till 1 day before 70th birthday. 70 – 73 years old Licence will be renewed up till 1 day before 73rd birthday. 73 – 74 years old Licence will be renewed up till 1 day before 74th birthday. 74 – 75 years old Licence will be renewed up till 1 day before 75th birthday. The Taxi Licence Renewal Process: Key Information Renewal Notice LTA used to send the refresher course notice, the medical assessment notice, and the renewal notice separately to licence holders who are due to meet the respective requirements. From Feb 2022, the different notices were streamlined into a one-step renewal notice, as part of LTA’s commitment towards conserving the environment. Renewing your Taxi Driver’s Vocational Licence Taxi drivers with expiring licence typically receive their renewal notice 2.5 months prior to the licence expiry month. Once you receive the notice, complete the outstanding requirements as stated in it and pay a non-refundable renewal fee of $40 to renew your vocational licence. Your vocational licence cannot be renewed if you are convicted in court, if your driving licence has been disqualified or suspended, or if your vocational licence has expired for more than 3 years. You may also not be allowed to renew your vocational licence if you have pending court charges or are under any investigation. You also need to keep in mind that the approval of a taxi driver’s vocational licence application or renewal is at the sole discretion of the LTA. To ensure the convenience of applicants, the LTA has made all vocational licence renewal services available online. This also includes vocational licences that have expired for less than 3 years. Medical Examination Turning 65,68, 71 years old Use LTA’s medical examination form at any Singapore-registered clinic or SATA Diagnostic Centre. If ‘Yes’ is indicated at any of the listed conditions in Section F, an additional memo is required from a medical specialist. Submit online to LTA at www.go.gov.sg/gbl and submit online to Traffic Police at https://eservices.police.gov.sg. Turning 66,67, 69 and 72 years old Submit online to LTA at www.go.gov.sg/gbl. Turning 70 and 73 years old Bring LTA’s assessment on fitness to drive report to any general practitioner and do a check-up. The doctor will fill in and certify Parts I and II of the report. Thereafter, take an on-road assessment at either Bukit Batok Driving Centre, ComfortDelGro Driving Centre, or Singapore Safety Driving Centre. If you are a Class 4 vocational driver, or you are both a Class 3 and Class 4 vocational driver, you will need to: Complete Traffic Police’s Enhanced Medical Examination form and Enhanced Proficiency Driving Test Report.
